II. TAIZE PRAYER
1. WARM UP
LORD JESUS CHRIST
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let not my doubts nor my darkness speak to me.
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let my heart always welcome your love.
NADA TE TURBE
SPANISH –
Nada te turbe, nada te espante
quien a Dios tiene nada le falta.
Nada te turbe, nada te espante
Sólo Dios basta.
—
Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten.
Those that seek God shall never go wanting.
Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten.
God alone fills us.
2. Veni Sancte Spiritus

Veni Sancte Spiritus
Come, Holy Spirit, from heaven shine forth with your glorious light.
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Come, Father of the poor, come, generous Spirit, come,
light of our hearts.
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Come from the four winds, O Spirit, come breath of God;
disperse the shadows over us, renew and
strengthen your people.
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Most kindly warming light! Enter the inmost depths of our hearts,
for we are faithful to you.
Without your presence we have nothing worthy, nothing pure.
Veni Sancte Spiritus
You are only comforter, Peace of the soul.
In the heat you shade us; in our labour you refresh us,
and in trouble you are our strength.
Veni Sancte Spiritus
On all who put their trust in you and receive you in faith,
shower all your gifts.
Grant that they may grow in you and persevere to the end.
Give them lasting joy!
Veni Sancte Spiritus
3. Psalm 51 (Reader: NATALIE)

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.
18 May it please you to prosper Zion,
to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,
in burnt offerings offered whole;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.
4. Silence with Taize musical background.
5. SING: Miserere Domine
Latin: Miserere Domine,
miserere nobis.
(English: Have mercy, Oh Lord
Have mercy on us)
6. MARK 7:14-23 (Reader: MOY)
14 Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15 Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” [16] [a]17 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

7. Silence with Taize musical background.
8. SING: LORD JESUS CHRIST
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let not my doubts nor my darkness speak to me.
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let my heart always welcome your love.
Lord you have search me and know me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up.
You are acquainted with all my ways.
If I take the wings of the morning;
And set to hide in the farthest place in the sea,
Even there your hand shall follow me.
If I say let the darkness cover me,
Even the darkness is not dark to You,
But night is as bright as the day.
Search me, O God, and know my heart.
And lead me in the everlasting way.
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let not my doubts nor my darkness speak to me.
Lord Jesus Christ your light shines within us.
Let my heart always welcome your love.
9. Matthew 6:1-8, 16-18 (Reader: Mrs. ADELE)
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

10. SING: NADA TE TURBE
Spanish:
Nada te turbe, nada te espante
quien a Dios tiene nada le falta.
Nada te turbe, nada te espante
Sólo Dios basta.
English
Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten.
Those that seek God shall never go wanting.
Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten.
